As part of the Jordanian government's plan to increase the country's strategic reserves of petroleum products, a storage plant was inaugurated on 13 June in Amman. The design, supply, construction and commissioning of the plant was the responsibility of OHL. The terminal is also equipped with the necessary facilities to be operated as a commercial terminal.
The construction project was divided into two phases. The first has a total storage capacity of 372,000 m3 of petroleum products and 16,935 m3 of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG). The second consists of the expansion of the infrastructure through the construction of three new LPG pressure storage spheres that will increase the storage capacity of this product by 10,161 m3, reaching a total of 27,096 m3.
The plant has four 30,000 m3 G90 gasoline tanks, two 16,000 m3 G95 gasoline tanks, six 30,000 m3 tanks for diesel storage and two 20,000 m3 tanks for jet fuel storage, as well as five LPG spheres with a capacity of 3,387 m3 each.
It should be noted that the main storage and delivery operations for petroleum products and LPG are carried out automatically using the plant's control system and through the use of trucks, for which there is a loading and unloading area distributed in 14 bays for liquid fuels, G90 and G95 Gasoline, Diesel and Jet Fuel, and four loading and unloading bays for liquefied petroleum gases (LPG).
