Its subsidiary Judlau has been selected as ENR New York's 2019 Contractor of the Year

OHL signs two contracts in the USA for nearly 70 million euros

OHL continues to strenghten and expand its presence in the USA infrastructure sector with new contracts. The company, through its subsidiaries Judlau Contracting, Inc. and Community Asphalt Corporation, has recently been awarded two new projects for nearly 70 million euros. Moreover, Judlau has been selected as the 2019 Contractor of the Year by ENR New York, a leading industry publication. 

In New York, Judlau will perform overcoat painting and structural steel repairs from 48th Street to 72nd Street on the Flushing Line in the Borough of Queens.

In Florida, Community Asphalt will make improvements to 15 miles of the Florida Turnpike in the Treasure Coast region. The work consists of milling and resurfacing, guardrails, drainage, lighting, culvert repairs, bridge bearing replacements, bridge expansion joints, signing and pavement markings from Becker Road to SR70/Okeechobee Road.

ENR New York's 2019 Contractor of the Year

Judlau has been selected as the 2019 Contractor of the Year by the prestigious ENR New York magazine. According to the publication, the OHL subsidiary was recognized for its “notable accomplishments” in several New York projects, including the Canarsie Tunnel Rehabilitation, the Throgs Neck Bridge Project, the Riverside Drive Viaduct Rehabilitation, the Enhanced Stations Initiative, and the Queens Midtown Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.

Separately, in its announcement of the “Best Projects 2019”, ENR New York noted that Judlau received an Award of Merit in the Airport/Transit category for the World Trade Center Cortlandt Street #1 Line Station Rehabilitation Project.  In addition, the ENR Southeast edition has honored the Design-Build Interstate 75 Express Lane, Miramar and Miami project, executed in Florida by OHL USA and Community Asphalt Corp., with the Award of Merit, Highway and Bridge category, in the 2019 Project of the Year Awards.

Judlau has performed significant and complex heavy civil construction projects in the New York market for over three decades. For example, on the new Second Avenue Subway Line, Judlau completed two stations – the 63rd Street Station Rehabilitation and the 72nd Street Station Fit-out.  Other projects include the Flood Mitigation at the Hugh L. Carey and Queens Midtown Tunnels; the Montague Tube Rehabilitation; the Replacement of the PIP Helix and Rehabilitation of the Upper Level Spans at the George Washington Bridge; and the Corbin Building Restoration.

Since 2006, the USA has been one of the leading markets for OHL. Currently, the company is active in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, Illinois, Connecticut, Virginia, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, and its portfolio of projects includes, highways,  bridges, railway infrastructure, tunnels, hydraulic works and singular buildings.
