New contracts in the fields of railways, roads and singular buildings

OHL participates in new projects in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for €177 million

The OHL Group, through its subsidiary OHL ŽS, has obtained six new contracts with a price tag of 177 million euro in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The Czech Republic Railway Infrastructure Administration has awarded OHL three new contracts. The first, with a budget of 74 million euros, consists of the optimization of the Český Těšín – Dětmarovice railway line. The contract was awarded to the joint venture formed by Subterra (38%), OHL ŽS (24%), Eurovia (30%) and GJW Praha (8%).

The second, with a budget of 34 million euros, is for the reconstruction of the communication and security facility at the Veselí nad Moravou railway station. It was awarded to the joint venture formed by Signalbau (50%), OHL ŽS (24%), Eurovia (24%) and AZD (2%).

The third project focuses on increasing the track speed on the Kuřim-Tišnov railway section in the Czech Republic, totaling 17 million euros and has been awarded to the 50/50 joint venture formed by OHL ŽS and Subterra.

There was also a 25 million euro contract for the modernization of the D1 motorway (Section 22: Velká Bites – Dever Krizu) linking the Czech cities of Brno and Prague. This contract was awarded to the joint venture formed by OHL ŽS (39%), Alpine Bau CZ (39%) and Eurovia CS (22%) by the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (ŘSD).

In the area of ​​the singular buildings, OHL will carry out the construction of a new building for general internal medicine and geriatrics at the University Hospital of Olomuc, the sixth largest hospital in the Czech Republic. The project has been awarded by the University Hospital of Olomuc for 10 million euro.   

These contracts are in addition to the reconstruction of the Turčianske Teplice-Príbovce section of the I/65 highway in Slovakia for 17 million euro. It was awarded to the joint venture formed by OHL ŽS SK (30%), Hochtief (40%) and BM Group (30%).

Presence in the region

The main projects carried out in the Czech Republic, where OHL has been present since 2003, include the optimization and commissioning of the railway line between the town of Bystrřce nad Olší, on the border with Slovakia, and the city of Mosty u Jablunkova; the construction of the I/42 highway and the Královo Pole tunnels in Brno; the expansion of the Bohunice University Campus of Masaryk University in the same city and the construction of the Prague Technical Library.

In Slovakia, OHL has executed the modernization of the Beluša-Púchov railway line, the water supply and purification project in the Orava region and the construction of the Hubová-Ivachnová stretch of the D1 highway.

OHL will carry out the construction of a new building for general internal medicine and geriatrics at the University Hospital of Olomuc.
