Second Call for Submissions of Social Projects by the OHL Group with the Technical Secretariat of Fundación Konecta

OHL´s employees committed to the labor market integration of people at risk of exclusion

Today, OHL held the ceremony for the presentation of the prizes to the winners of its Second Call for Submissions of Social Projects hosted by Gonzalo Targhetta, Organization & Corporate Resources General Manager. On this occasion, the successful candidates were three projects undertaken by the Asociación Salud Mental de Cieza y Comarca (AFEMCE), the Asociación de las Bienaventuranzas de Perú and the Asociación ASPERGER Madrid. The cash award totaled 11,000 euros, distributed as 6,000 euros for the winning project; 3,000 euros and 2,000 euros, respectively, for the two runners-up.

Fundación Konecta, as the Technical Secretariat, performed the tasks of the overall coordination of the call for submissions, together with the analysis of the 31 proposals submitted for the     pre-selection of the 12 finalists, among which the jury chose the 6 initiatives that were included in the voting by 424 OHL employees, who decided on the three winning projects.

In this second edition, the winning proposals were submitted by the Asociación Salud Mental de Cieza y Comarca (AFEMCE),- with the project “Atalaya Rural Complex: tourist facility management and operation by workers with mental illness and/or in the process of recovery from drug addictions”; the Asociación de las Bienaventuranzas de Perú, for its initiative in furthering the employment of women with disabilities, victims of gender violence or rescued from living on the streets, through an accessible and sustainable sewing course; and the Asociación ASPERGER, with a project for the training of specialists in databases and digital and analogical archiving, designed for people with disabilities.

The winners were selected by an independent jury created specifically for this Call for Submissions and made up by representatives of the third sector and experts in the field of disabilities, who have taken into account the innovative nature of the initiatives, their multiplier and continuity effects, as well as the strong social impact they are likely to generate. The composition of the jury included, among others, Joaquín Garralda, Dean of Academic Affairs of IE Business School; José Manuel González Huesa, Servimedia General Manager; María Eugenia Larrégola, Institutional Relations Director of Fundación Lealtad; María Ruspoli, Head of CSR in the OHL Group; Miguel Laloma, Director of Projects of Fundación Seres, and Pilar Villarino, Executive Manager of CERMI. The position of secretary of the jury was held by Graciela de la Morena, Director of Fundación Konecta.

This Call for Submissions is set in the framework of the OHL Group’s Corporate Responsibility and its objective is to give support to social projects backed by employees and implemented by third sector entities dedicated to the labor market integration of people at risk of exclusion..
